1972 Skylark custom, 2nd owner since new, currently owned since 1985. originally a 350 car, converted to big block in 1987.
NOT A GS/CLONE/TRIBUTE/WHATEVER BS HYPE MODERN NAME applied in the barret jackson style-just a really nice example of a well built, great condition, DRIVEABLE street-strip car. P/S, P/B, Cruise Control, Power seat, A/C. 462c.i. Buick with ported heads, Ta 413 cam,REAL 9.3 to 1 with forged pistons, Edelbrock intake and 800 cfm Q-Jet. Aluminum BeCool radiator. Daves small body HEI, Jacobs rev limiter. Ta headers with x pipe and 2.5 exhaust to the rear bumper, nicely fitted in factory locations. "JW The Wheel" sema approved flywheel, switch-pitch T-400, high stall 2800, low stall 1300, works excellent! Moser 9 inch ford rear with 31 spline axles, detroit locker and 3.89 gears. custom driveshaft, 1350 u joints. Polished Weld pro stars, 15x10 rears, 15x7 fronts with nearly new BFG drag radials and ta radials, front rotors/pads/brgs and all tires have less than 1000 miles on them. Fiberglass cowl hood, with pins and hinges, custom stripe. 6 disc cd changer with 100 amp booster in trunk, pioneer am-fm-cassete/controller head in dash, vintage air heat and a/c system, tach/oil pressure/water temp gauges, all suspension replaced within the past 30k including springs/ball jts/idler arm/etc. rear has air bags and south side machine bars. engine has less than 25000 miles on it, trans has less than 2000. car weighs 4000 lbs W/O driver, runs 13 teens in 3000 foot air, driven to track and driven home with the a/c on!! This car was driven to and from Las Vegas from SoCal to the Buick west Coast nationals in 02,03and 04, won V8 class in 02nd 03, runner up in 04. DRIVEN TO OHIO from socal in 04 for the first ever BPG nationals. Didn't win a thing, but got 13-16 mpg n the trip and car was completely comfortable and reliable.
car is in excellent condition, above driver quality but not show quality, can be driven anywhere and raced then driven home again. WILL RUN FINE ON 87 OCTANE! cannot race on low octane but drive around town fine on it, with no pinging as long as you don't twist it hard. With the exception of the trip to Ohio in 2004, this car has spent its life in california and HAS NO RUST ISSUES WHATSOEVER! Has been painted twice since 1985, paint is in overall good condition.
