'65 Chevy Malibu 283 4-Speed 107k Actual Mi.

This car is a little out of the ordinary in that although it looks like a freshly restored car from a few feet away, when you get close you realize it is a well-preserved nearly all original '65 Malibu! The car has the original 283 motor that now has 107,000 miles on it, but it was completely rebuilt at 99,000 miles. When the motor was pulled apart, it still had the original beaings in it and was still running great! We installed a new Crane Cam and lifters, (the cam is part no. 100172) It has a nice little lope to it. It sounds awesome. We also installed a set of coated headers, an Edlebrock Intake and Carb, a fresh exhaust system, and so much more.
At the time the motor was rebuilt, the original Powerglide trans was replaced with a fresh-built Muncie M-20 4-speed, with brand new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, etc. Also a new clutch pedal was installed, along with new z-bar and the correct trans hump in the floorpan. All of the original parts were saved in case the new owner wants to put it back to original.
Also, we replaced all of the brake system on the car, new shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder and rubber lines.
The interior of the car is awesome. Everything is original except the front seat cover. The original padded dash has 2 cracks in it. The door panels are turning up at the bottoms a little, but I like the fact that they are original to the car. Also, there's some wear below the ignition switch, where keys have rubbed the original paint off. To me, that bit of patina adds character to the car. Some might choose to "fix" these areas, but I like it just as it is.
As for the body of the car, the undercarriage is awesome. It was undercoated at the dealership, evidently, and the floorpans have never seen any rust or rot! The trunkpan is solid. On the exterior, there are a few places where rust is starting to show, at the corners of each door and above the right rear wheel opening. The car was repainted in the early 90's but it's still got a nice shine. It will need a new repaint or at least a touch-up when the few rusty areas are fixed, but it still shows very nicely. There are very few nearly-original cars around these days and I've not seen any '65 Chevelles as nice as this one. The glass is all in excellent shape, the grille, and the body trim is in excellent shape. The bumpers look like new and they have the rare-optioned bumper guards. Also, the car has another rare option for '65, a remote drivers side mirror.

It will be the buyers responsibilty to arrange for transportation, however I can usually arrange to have the car delivered to anywhere east of the Mississippi River for $1.75 per loaded mile. If you are an overseas buyer, you are responsible for all charges from our location to yours.
